This weekend will be the team's first weekend in the shop for the 2016-2017 race season! Stop by in the DLL in Engineering Hall anywhere from 12 AM to 6 PM if your interested in the team! Come with long pants, closed toe'd shoes, and a short sleeve shirt! Come have some fun and get your hands dirty!
This Saturday, a new steering column on Eagle 2 was fabricated and welded onto the frame. It is an odd cantilever design, but it should give us plenty of leg and knee room.
Eagle Racing is finally back from a long break. It is crunch time for the team before they head up to Houghton Michigan for Blizzard Baja!
New aluminum firewall finished, is 1/3 the weight of our old firewall.
The new arms have all been laid out and welded. Same chromolly just a thinner sidewall on the pipe.
BIG Thanks to Clinton Bettner and the whole Penn College Baja Team for machining some off their extra CV-Tech weights and selling them to us! We owe you guys! Thanks!!
New Weights: 225 g, 200 g, 175 g.
Can't wait to get these on our CVT and test which ones are the best for Eagle 2 and Eagle 1.
Sorry for not posting recently, but with the holiday season and the approaching finals, Eagle Racing's members have been super busy.
This past weekend the team spent shop hours downloading the new update for Solidworks 2015-2016, as well as begun the fit up process on the new, lighter, set of A-Arms. Here is a picture of our "lair" for the arm setup.
Special thanks to Solidworks for the update and Milwaukee Tool for the tools to help us fit up (Pictured Below).
This past Sunday, the team headed back to Wisconsin Off Road Adventures in Random Lake, Wisconsin. The goals the team set out with on this day were to test CVT springs and weight combinations, top speed, acceleration, and run some time trials. Unfortunately, after team member Zach Deutschmann put down a few very quick laps, the spark plug wire sheared in half. We do not know what exactly went wrong and are in the process of diagnosing the issue. Thanks again to Alex and David Bub for allowing us to test at their park. It is an amazing facility and we are very grateful for their generosity. If anybody is interested in learning how to ride a atv or motorcycle, give em a call!
